What’s to eat this weekend?

This week’s suggestions for dining out range from thick-crust pizza to crispy pig’s ears that are sweet, salty and savoury. You can stay in Kitchener and Waterloo, or venture out on the short drive to Guelph to visit a new sandwich shop where they cook fresh to order and with good ingredients.

[As always, please check with individual venues for hours of operation and availability of dishes.]

Levetto Waterloo
Try a smoked prosciutto pizza: a few different ingredients and flavours on this pie including speck (a smoked Italian bacon), sweet medjool date sauce, fresh arugula, fior di latte cheese and toasted almonds. (More on the Levetto business here, if you are interested.)

Fork and Cork Grill Kitchener
Whatever you get is bound to be good at Fork and Cork. Perhaps start off with some crispy-fried pig ears? Find yourself a nice crisp lager to go alongside.

The Cutting Board Sandwich Co. Guelph
Several great sandwiches, from a terrific and wonderfully crisp fried fish to burgers to a tender beef dip. A classic sandwich!
