Good customer service means a lot. Especially in a restaurant…
I was at the regional qualifier for the Skills Canada pastry and baking competition last week at Liaison College, Kitchener. It was amazing to watch the talent and creativity of these young chefs.
Six high school pastry chefs from Grand River Collegiate, KCI and Southwood competed to gain a berth in the provincial skills competition at RIM Park on May 5.
The pastry chefs were simply amazing in their technique and knowledge but as well as their ability to work under pressure of time and the judges’ scrutiny.
The winner of the competition was 16-year-old Val Wissmach of Grand River Collegiate. She led the group in her preparation of choux pastry creations, yeast bread and rolls and a lemon meringue pie.
