Downtown Kitchener is home to Rhapsody Barrel Bar in the centre block. Approaching its first anniversary, the venue has become a leader in the city for music and spoken word events.
It offers a full menu of food but also a menu of a wide range of musical acts — including popular “women in music” features — comedy, open mic nights and private functions. There is an adjoining clothing store, Gypsy Lee, which is part of the brand that makes Rhapsody quite eclectic.
Owner Tammy Lawrence, the subject of this podcast, says that Rhapsody has a vision to serve great food in a relaxed setting and promote artists and bands where fans can learn an appreciate where the inspiration comes from and shares the story behind the music.
