The month of May is a month to make sure…
There are two food events in one at the inaugural Food Fest in the ’Burg, taking place Saturday, September 23.
Happening in downtown New Hamburg, the Fest celebrates local food and drink producers at this first-ever event that is being held, al fresco, on Mill Street and Peel Street. Guests will have two dining experiences to choose from: “New HamBurg’er & Beer Festival” or “Harvest Table.”
The Burger and Beer Festival runs from 12 noon until 11 p.m. Entrance fee is $25 per person (+ HST) and beer/food tickets will be available on the day, at the venue: that includes two beer tastings and a complimentary souvenir Burger & Beer Festival beer-tasting glass.
Beers will be provided by a variety of local breweries from Waterloo Region and the surrounding area, including Bitte Schön Brauhaus, Descendants Beer & Beverage Company, Abe Erb, and Block Three Brewing Co.
The Harvest Table meal will be served at a communal long table, from 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be catered by The Imperial Market & Eatery, with a meat platter of brisket, rotisserie chicken, pulled pork, and sausage, plus platters of vegetables, roasted potatoes, bread and salads. Guests will have a choice of a beer-flight taster, served on a paddle, or two white or red taster wines. There will be Blue Grass musical entertainment. Tickets are $55 per person (+ HST) and must be booked online, in advance.
