They are always a favourite of mine: the crispy bits…
Hi there food community. This happens too much, as we know, but we need to come together and support each other when it does.
Waterloo Region chef Sarah Sharkey has been diagnosed with a sudden cancer, and a one at a serious stage. As any of us would, she and her family — two young kids and her husband and long-time area chef Tim Farley and their extended family and friends — need our help.
Sarah has cooked in the region for a long time, including at 20 King Restaurant (where I came from long ago), The Perimeter Institute, The Culinary Studio, and others.
What can you do?
Whatever you can, of course, depending on how you know Sarah and Tim. Her friend, colleague and 20 King alumna Kate Millman Dowhan has set up a GoFundMe page that I ask you to visit and contribute as you can.
We all know that Sarah and Tim and family have a long, difficult road ahead of them. But we can do our part and make that road a little less lonely and a little less rocky.
Please visit the page and help out.
