“Food and farmers. Restaurants and chefs.”
That’s what Waterloo Region Eats is all about: where to eat and what to eat … and who’s cooking it.
From pupusas among the unique international culinary offerings from a wide world of food cultures found in downtown Kitchener to the pig tails and rolled ribs that are the foundation of Waterloo County fare, WREats is an instructive and friendly resource for food lovers in Waterloo Region and beyond.
Local food commentator Andrew Coppolino is food columnist for CBC-Radio 89.1 in Waterloo Region, and he visits local restaurant kitchens as Culinary Reporter for Rogers TV “Daytime.”
Coppolino also writes about food in various print publications, including as food columnist for The Kitchener Post newspaper. He was formerly restaurant reviewer with the Waterloo Region Record.
His other publications include Culinary Trends and Restaurant Report magazines (US), Avenue Calgary, Whiskey Magazine (UK) and co-author of Cooking with Shakespeare (Greenwood Press, 2008).
A couple of years of cooking as an apprentice chef in a restaurant kitchen in Waterloo Region helped him decide he wanted to work with food from the other side of the stove. And so he does … Waterloo Region Eats is his signature dish.
